Hello, my name is Peter Chin, the proud owner of Chin & Orr Lawyers. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
In 1992, Susan Orr and I thought we could do things differently. We were fresh out of school, about thirty years old and we felt that we could provide legal services in a simple, understandable, and honest way so that our clients felt comfortable trusting us with some of their life problems.
Today, at Chin & Orr Lawyers, we do just that. We have vast experience representing individuals, partnerships, companies, associations, husbands, wives, children, members of the LBGTQ community, victims, accused, anyone and everyone from all walks of life, religions, races, and sexes in need of legal services.
In the decades we have served our clients, our practice evolved, especially when the internet arrived. However, our business is people, and everywhere in the world, people are the same, we all want someone in our corner, someone we can trust, and someone who doesn’t back down when things get tough!
We really enjoy helping clients through life’s obstacles. Working with younger lawyers is also a lot of fun. They bring an energy and perspective that reminds me of when I first started. My business philosophy came from Susan Ott: Work hard, be Honest and whether you win, lose or draw, Always try to do your Best. This is what I think sets us out from the rest.
I attribute our success to caring about clients’ matters as if they were our own. We are approachable and are uniquely situated to offer solutions to our clients from a variety of perspectives.
Setting a new law for personal care costs in an estate litigation case after a ten-day trial and having the Ontario Court of Appeal uphold it was certainly a career-high. Receiving kind words and gestures from clients who appreciated our efforts also provides us with a sense of pride.
When I am not at work, I have a few different hobbies and interests that keep me busy. However, I most enjoy time with my family, sailing, golf, and helping others.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things that matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
