About Chin & Orr Lawyers
We’re a full-service law firm located in Midland, Innisfil, Barrie, and Elmvale. We started this business in 1992 to take care of our clients’ legal needs and provide them with affordable legal services and understandable communication. Twenty-eight years later, we have helped over 10,000 clients.
Our approach is different. Our founding partner, Susan Orr, lost her battle to cancer in 2003 at the age of 43, her vision was for Chin & Orr to continue providing cost-effective legal solutions for members of the community in which we serve. We try to honor her vision, one day at a time, and feel fortunate to feel the warmth of the sun as it rises each day as if it were a message from Susan.
Over the years, we have made changes to improve and enhance the service levels for our clients, such as appointments outside of office hours, video conferencing, use of electronic media for communications and signatures. We continue to do so on our website, Facebook, and Twitter. We usually operate from 9 am to 5 pm and other times by special appointment, including home or video-conferencing.
Since the coronavirus pandemic has changed social behavior across the nation, we have altered our ways to ensure that your legal needs are accommodated.

We don’t back down from a challenge and have set precedent and made new law. For instance, we conducted a ten-day trial and established the precedent-setting case Tarantino et al. v. Galvano, 2017 ONSC 3535, upheld on Appeal 2019 Ont. C.A. 699
What also sets us apart from the rest is our communication and our approachability. We strive for direct, simple, and open communication with our clients. We also offer flexibility and work according to our clients’ schedules. We treat all our clients as though they are our family and work hard to give them successful results.
We also believe in giving back to society, and as part of that belief, we have sponsored elementary and high school scholarships, numerous sporting events, various out-of-country humanitarian trips, volunteered at local food banks, and participated in heart and stroke and cancer fundraising to name a few.
